SCHOOL ENCAMPMENT - KAB SCOUTS The Scouting Activity was a two-day event. All of the activities therein were in-line with the school’s vision; harness the potentials of youth based on the principles of spirituality, righteousness, harmony, productivity, patriotism and ecological integrity; mission; enhance the ecological integrity through community-based program; goals; relevant programs to produce well-rounded and skillful graduates; and departmental objectives; to promote relevant work experiences which develop and enhance the child’s orientation to the world of work. The event on the first day of scouting was an Orientation about the KAB Scout Law, Knot Tying and Hand Signals held in the AVR (2nd floor). Here, the scouts learned the importance of the scouting law. We included Knot Tying in the orientation since it is essential in all scouting activities and even in daily lives. The Hand Signals were comprised as well for it brought orders and it is very important during expeditions or even simple activities where silence is needed. It was followed by a short quiz. In the afternoon, the KAB Scout had their KAB Scout Law Relay and Hand Signals Contest that would test on how far they have learned in the orientation. The second day began with the Knot Tying Contest. It was followed by the Marshmallow Kick, Throw and Blow Activity. In this activity the scouts built the team work. The last game was the Lemon Catching. The last event was the Awarding Ceremony. The Scouts were given appropriate prices as fruit of their labor. They were also given certificates as confirmation of being a KAB SCOUT. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************** SCHOOL ENCAMPMENT - STARS SCOUTS The Grades I – III female students participated in the School Encampment held in Jose Maria College last October 23-24, 2008. The students were merged and grouped according to patrols. Eleven patrols were formed and their patrol names were taken from their favorite cartoon characters. These were the Beauty ands the Beast Patrol, Sleeping Beauty Patrol, Island Princess Patrol, Mulan Patrol, Snow White Patrol, Goldilocks Patrol, Pochahontas Patrol, Little Mermaids Patrol, Alladin Patrol, Peter Pan Patrol and Rapunzel Patrol. Various activities were prepared for the Star Scouts. The activities on the first day, October 23, 2009, were Banner Making Contest, Yells and Cheers, Star Scouts Went to Town, Planting Rice, Paper Blowing, Poster Making Contest and Sack Race. Winners and participants for each activity were given corresponding points. The first placer received 15 points, second placer received 12 points, third placer received 9 points, and the non-winner participants received 5 points. During the second day of the encampment, the students joined the different games such as Hand Signals, Star Scout Relay, and Egg Catching. In the afternoon of the second day was the Awarding Ceremony. Every patrol was able to receive awards according to its patrol performance and output. Please see attachment for the list of winners. Truly, the School Encampment was a success for the children had fun while learning. The important values learned during the activities were cooperation, sisterhood, and sportsmanship. |
